Mijn naam is Frances van Gool
Ik ben TXTproducties. Ik hou van taal en tekst. Na mijn studie kunstgeschiedenis werd mij gevraagd een aantal kunsthistorische boeken te vertalen. Dat vond ik zo ontzettend leuk dat ik in 1999 als zelfstandig vertaler van start ging. Kort daarop schreef ik ook mijn eerste webtekst in opdracht. Nu vier ik binnenkort mijn twintigjarig jubileum als tekstschrijver en vertaler.
Voor ’tekstverwerkers’ is een netwerk vol andere ’talenknobbels’ onontbeerlijk. Daarom ben ik als vertaler lid van de beroepsorganisatie SENSE, een Nederlandse organisatie voor English native-speaking editors. Van dit netwerk maak ik gebruik als ik bijvoorbeeld een peer review nodig heb voor een Engelse vertaling. Per 1 januari 2019 is TXTproducties ook lid van Tekstnet.
My name is Frances van Gool
I am TXTproducties. I love words and texts. Following my graduation as an art historian, I was asked to translate some art-historical books from English to Dutch. I enjoyed doing this so much, I started as a self-employed translator in 1999. Soon after that I also finished my first copywriting assignment. And now I celebrate my 20th anniversary as a copywriter and translator.
Although ’text workers’ need peace and quiet to carry out their work, they also enjoy professional contact with other translators and linguists. For this reason I am an associate member of SENSE, an organisation for English-speaking editors in the Netherlands. I also make use of this network when I need a peer review for an English translation. Starting 1 January 2019 TXTproducties will also be a member of Tekstnet.
